The coat of arms of the municipality of Vir has the shape of a semi-circular shield inside which on the blue field there is a plate (plaque) of gold (yellow) painted with the silver (white) head of St. John the Baptist.
Other sights on the island of Vira
Of other sights, the remains of several old churches that have not yet been thoroughly explored and protected can be highlighted. At the top of Bandir Hill you can see the foundations of the church of St. Jurja whose construction dates back to the 12th and 15th centuries. Crkvica sv. Nicholas is a sacral object that is preserved in its foundations, which are now covered with asphalt near the tourist office at the beginning of the Mula. Church of Saint Jurja
Župna crkva svetog Jurja izgrađena je 1845. godine na temeljima starije istoimene crkvice koja, prema procjenama, datira iz vremena oko 12. ili 13. stoljeća. Ova crkva je jednobrodna građevina s pravokutnom sakristijom koja se nalazi na njenom začelju. Uz crkvu je smješten i kameni zvonik koji je izgrađen 1937./38. godine. Vrh zvonika je bio srušen u Drugom svjetskom ratu od strane njemačkih okupacijskih snaga te je, nakon rata, obnovljen 1959. godine.
Kaštelina
Kaštelina je jedna od najpoznatijih znamenitosti otoka Vira je venecijanska utvrda Kaštelina koja se nalazi na predjelu zvanom Kozjak. Ovaj fortifikacijski objekt je, po svemu sudeći, izgrađen početkom 17. stoljeća
Church of Saint Ivan
Crkva sv. Ivana Krstitelja datira iz vremena 13./14. stoljeća. Ovaj romanički sakralni objekt je pravokutnog oblika s polukružnom apsidom. Ranije, prije izgradnje današnje Župne crkve sv. Jurja, ona je imala funkciju župne crkve.
